Welcome to Dance Institute for the Winter/Spring 2010 semester! We are so happy to have you! In this newsletter, we have put all of The Triple Threat Academy important information. We request that you keep all communications for the school year as you receive them from our studio. We welcome your comments and suggestions regarding any of our policies or procedures at any time.

Please note that the lobby areas are made available for the convenience of our students and their families. The lobby areas are for waiting, reading, snacking, conversation, video viewing, and homework. We ask that you please respect the activities of others and the classes in session. Please discard any trash after you are done in the lobby areas. Also, we ask that voices do not raise above a normal speaking level as it can disrupt classes in session. Please no running in the hallways of the studio. Your courtesy will be greatly appreciated. We have complimentary Wi-Fi at the studio, please ask the front desk for more details

If any parent/student wishes a private conference concerning your individual goals or financial concerns, please do not hesitate to ask. We are happy to work with you to ensure that your semester will be one of pleasure and growth. The entire faculty and staff wish you a fantastic year of singing, dancing, and acting!

School Policies

Please note the following guidelines regarding all classes:

  1. We request that students carefully observe our dress code outlined in this newsletter.
  2. Any student arriving more than 15 minutes late will not be admitted late to class.
  3. We make every effort to have all children feel safe and cared for in a loving and inspiring learning environment. Please encourage students not to leave the room once class has begun. Please allow for appropriate restroom use prior to class. Very young children will be treated sensitively as the need arises. Preschool children may need attention from time to time for various reasons including bathroom or behavior issues.
  4. School age children and teens: please practice respect. Students are not to be socializing in a disruptive manner during the class with other students. Please come early or stay late to enjoy friends in the waiting area. Please honor your teacher and fellow students by giving full attention and co-operation. You will be advised if we feel any student is not well adjusted to the classroom environment for any reason over time.
  5. During class if a student complains of being ill, or sustains an injury and cannot participate, the instructor will send them to the office where the parents will be notified if not on the premises.
  6. Only students with a pre-existing sickness/injury are allowed to observe class. The parents must notify the office if a student is to observe class.

Dance class is educational and fun, however, an important part of class work is developing an attitude of discipline and respect for teachers and fellow students. We trust that following our classroom etiquette will provide an environment whereby classes at DANCE INSTITUTE will be a pleasure for all concerned.

Absences

We ask that students keep absences down to a minimum, so that every student is adequately prepared for all performances. If a student is frequently absent, it is possible that he or she may not be able to perform!

In Case of Bad Weather

In the case of bad weather, Dance Institute follows Leander ISD for all weather situations. If there should be a question as to whether or not class will be held, you can always call Dance Institute at 512-346-6612.

Payments and Tuition

Tuition is based on the Winter/Spring semester, 19 weeks of instruction. Payments may be made in full or in 5 equal installments. If you choose to pay installments, payments should be made on the 1st of the month. If payment is not received before the 5th of the month a $10 late fee will be assessed. Tuition is the same for all months, regardless of the number of lessons in that particular month. There are no refunds or adjustments for absences or vacation.

Withdrawal Policy

If you withdraw your child from the Triple Threat Academy, it must be done at the end of the current quarter. Check the calendar for end of quarter dates. You will need to sign the Cancellation form in order to withdraw your child. If you paid in full for the entire 19 weeks, we will refund the remaining quarters your child did not complete.

We are very excited about starting this new program! It will be all of our students and parents that will make it so special! We want everyone to have a spectacular semester, learning and growing not only in musical theater, but in all areas of life. We hope that everyone has a great experience at Dance Institute.
